Suddenly a 100-strong herd of Asian elephants has appeared on the Commonwealth Avenue mall! Join us as we walk amongst these life size sculptures made by indigenous peoples in south India. These artisans modeled the sculptures after real-life elephants who are their neighbors. We are introduced to them by their individual names, personalities, and habits. Touch these majestic mammals, enjoy their peacefulness, and get a glimpse of the special bond they share with their human neighbors.
This walk is short, much less than a mile, and on level ground. Lunch at a nearby restaurant will follow the walk.
The walk is free, and guests are welcome. Registration is very highly recommended for BV members, and guests, in order that your name is on the notification list in case of a weather cancellation. BV members can register a guest themselves or contact the BV Office to register their guest, guests must be registered in association with a BV member. You will receive the complete meet-up details when you register.
